
Salma Hayek Pinault born Salma Valgarma Hayek-Jimenez (born September 2, 1966)[3][4][5[5]] is a Mexican and American actress as well as film producer. In Mexico, she began her professional career by playing the character as Teresa in the telenovela (1989-1991) and also as El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) in which she was nominated for an Ariel Award. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) were only some of her many Hollywood credits. Hayek's portrayal of painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002) that she also directed was the first Mexican actress to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress[6] and additionally earned her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Later on, Hayek focused more on making films, while also starring in action-oriented films such as Once Upon a Time in Mexico
