Niykee has experienced many a hectic few years which included being chosen by Snoop to perform with him at The YouTube Brandcast May 2013 Niykee maintains a consistent songwriting schedule even though she has been a bit busy. As a producer magnet, Niykee constantly sifts through the numerous beats sent to her. She has found that the majority are a source of new music ideas. After five seconds, I'm able to tell what a song is or not. After that, I have an idea of an original song, and start writing it immediately. My guitar is on the back of my porch and I let the lyrics flow. The process usually takes about 30 minutes. Niykee keeps working on her skills as a poet and the lyricist. She explains how the trauma she endured through the years is a constant source of unusual inspiration. "Even even if I'm not writing about my personal life, the sadness of losing my sister and the pain of my childhood is incorporated into my music," she says. The memories influence my songs and builds this deeper meaning under everything which is among the most significant things for me. I want to be able to say that I can hear any of my music 20 years down the road and be proud of what I had to say.
